The martyr St. Sebastian, usually portrayed tied to tree at which he was executed, and spiked full of arrows, was a popular subject in Riemenschneider’s day. This example has reworked polychromy, certainly not original, and while it distracts from the figure, you can see incredible details if you note the legs and hair.
