These two sets of figures were originally part of a larger set; the other components are in Berlin and Heroldberg. These two groups framed a crucified Christ. The figures represent (on the left) Mary, John, and two women; one the right, high priest Caiaphas and soldiers.

These two groups are incredible; tons of forceful personality and the original polychromy, which is very rare. Note the soldier on the far right’s two-fingered gloves, a favorite detail.

This piece is located in Munich’s Bavarian National Museum, the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum.
