This limewood carving hangs high on the right of the altar at the front of St. Kilian’s, a parish church in Hassfurt.
It’s a beautiful portrait of Johann der Tauber, and the working of the camelhair is gorgeous. It brings to mind the Magdalene carving at the Munich Bayerisches Nationalmuseum.
